James “Jim” Lighthill

James “Jim” Lighthill, 89, of Amarillo, passed away on November 20, 2020.  He was born on June 1, 1931, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Robert James and Sylvia LaCeile (Miller) Lighthill.

 Jim married Imogene Miller on June 25, 1949.  They were married for 55 years, until her passing in 2004.

 Jim served his country as a Gunner’s Mate in the U.S.  Navy during the Korean War.  He worked as an architect for the military and Busch Gardens, in Tampa Bay, Florida.

 He was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny; his beloved wife, Imogene, and his parents.

 Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Myrna Lawson and husband, Denny, of Amarillo; one grandson, Jason Lawson and wife, Heather; two great-grandchildren, Brook Lawson and Neil Lawson, all of Moore, Oklahoma.

 Services will be held at a future date.
