James Lloyd “Jimmy” Albert of Amarillo, Texas passed away at home after a prolonged illness on April 19, 2023. Jimmy was born July 16, 1960, in Dallas, Texas and was 62 years old at the time of his passing. He was an avid musician. In his youth, Jimmy was a light technician for bands such as Pink Floyd, Kiss, and Rush to name a few and was a keyboardist for the band Skyway. In his later years, Jimmy was a welder fabricating building components as well as a talented metal artist. He had his first art exhibition in 2015.
Jimmy was preceded in death by both his parents James T. “J.T.” Albert, Jr. of Amarillo and Lloy Dean Moore-Albert of Dallas; his uncle Don Albert and niece Kara Barrow, both of Amarillo, Texas.
Jimmy is survived by his loving partner Kelly Burris; his sisters Mary Ann “Rosebud” Dennis of Amarillo and Teresa “Teri” Albert of Princeton, Texas; daughters Tiffany Gerken of York, Nebraska, Brittney Schmitt of Denver, Colorado, niece Mandie Lacey of San Antonio, Texas and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 24, 2023, at noon at Lighthouse Funeral Home located at 3707 Wolflin Ave. Amarillo, Texas.
