James Moment

In the words of James Moment, “Hello, folks. If you’re reading this, I’ve taken my final ride and have parked my rig for the last time. I was born on the 19th of August, 1962, in the humble town of Booneville, MS, USA. I spent some time living in Memphis, TN, before finally settling down in Amarillo, Texas. I was a truck driver for over 30 years, a profession I was truly passionate about. I loved the open road, the camaraderie on the CB radio, and the simple pleasures of being behind the wheel. I was blessed with the nickname ‘John Henry 722’ and ‘Love Machine’ by my trucker buddies, names I carried with pride.”

“I was a loving and supportive father to Kierra Becton, Jasmine Villarreal, James Jr., Robert Moment, and Sade Bradley. I enjoyed tinkering with cars and spending my free time on the CB radio with my buddies. I was ambitious, always aiming for the next goal, the next milestone. I was also a courageous man, never backing down from challenges, always facing them head-on. I was always worried about my children and grandchildren, they mattered most to me. In my eyes, family was everything. I was there for whoever needed me, and in turn, became a father figure to many.”

“In my professional life, I was employed at Tyson, and dedicated 10 fulfilling years in maintenance. I was also a representative of the local union, a role I held in high esteem. My friends, I’ve always been a believer in the Lord, and as it is written in 2 Timothy 4:7, ‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.’ I hope I leave behind a legacy of love, support, and courage. I am now reunited with my beloved parents, Willie Moment and Irene Chandler. I miss them, as I know you will miss me.”

“Please, remember me as I was – loving, supportive, ambitious, and courageous. I’d love it if you could share your memories of me and upload photos on my memorial page. It would mean a lot to me and my family. Keep on truckin’, my friends.”
