Jay Edward Lile

Jay Edward Lile, of Amarillo, passed into his heavenly home Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the age of 76. Jay was born December 4, 1947, in Liberal, Kansas to Glen Robert Lile and Vera Long Lile.

He graduated from Guymon High School, joined Oklahoma Military Academy and later attended Oklahoma State University. Jay married Eva Waugh Lile in 1978. He was the love of her life. Six years later their son Tatem (10 days young) joined and completed their family circle.

Jay’s career followed a path into sales. His sales representative position with Miller Paper of Amarillo brought him joy and long friendships. He loved his Lord, enjoyed people and serving others. Jay and Eva were married 46 years. Jay was a member of Hillside Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Eva and son, Tatem Lile, both of Amarillo. Other survivors include in-laws Gorey, Glen Waugh, Bryce & Janie Waugh, Lavena & Red Chastine, Clydene Waugh, Estella & Walter Beesley, Dale & Shirley Waugh, Elva & Mickey Bentley, Cora & WM Carlile and Glenda & Mike Cochran. Many loved ones include nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for the near future.
