Jerry Swindell, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, with his loving son Victor and grandson Shelby, by his side. Jerry was born December 21, 1945, to Leslie and Wilma Carlene Swindell in an air base in Chattanooga Tennessee. His family moved to Amarillo where he was raised and lived the remainder of his life. 

Jerry attended Amarillo High School and moved his senior year to Denison, Texas to take care of his grandmother, where he graduated from Denison High school. He met and married Linda Magouirk before returning back to Amarillo. Jerry worked several years for Trafton and Autry printing before starting his business in 1984, American Gold & Jewelry / American Gold and Silver Exchange in Amarillo, Texas.

He retired in 1994, and started spending time at his place at Lake Texoma, and riding his Harley Davidson all over the United States with his buddies. He loved snow skiing with his family and friends, the Texas Tumbleweeds Ski Club of Amarillo. He also enjoyed spending time at his family cabin in UTE Park, New Mexico. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Wilma Carlene Swindell. 

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Timothy James Swindell, and Victor Swindell and wife Stephanie; his grandson, Shelby Swindell; his granddaughter, Sawyer Beth Crane and husband, Keaton; his siblings, Carla Swindell, Larry Swindell and wife Brenda, and Garry Swindell and wife Darlene.  He is also survived by his nieces “Pete”, Robin, Kat, and nephews, Kevin and Terry. 

The family will be having a private ceremony in UTE Park.
