Jet Evan Thompson

Jet Evan Thompson, 18, of Amarillo, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior October 18, 2023. Jet was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana July 27,2005 and got back to Texas as soon as he could, he was proud to be a Texan.

He attended school in Amarillo and Canyon. Once he got to Canyon, that is where he truly found himself and where he belonged. He was a proud graduate of Canyon High School, Class of 2023. During school he obtained his OSHA and welding certificates, and he mastered woodshop and was a fine carpenter. He corrected all the botched projects that his dad started.

Jet was an avid fisherman, if you couldn’t find Jet, he was probably at a fishing hole somewhere, he was quite the angler. He loved kayaking, camping and hanging out by the firepit. He loved anything on wheels from a skateboard, mountain bike, dirt bike, his truck, but most of all he loved riding his Harley. That is where he felt so free.

Jet was the most fun loving, sarcastic and humorous soul you would ever meet. He was caring, kindhearted, a respectful young man and was a one-of-a-kind soul.

Jet was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shawn Callery and Kathy Ward.

Jet is survived by his parents, Jay and Amanda Thompson; his sister Peyton Thompson; grandparents LaDenna and Ted Lawrence and Duane Ward, all of Amarillo; his great-grandpa Leon Ward of Pueblo, Colorado, and a whole host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

The family will receive visitors from 12:00 -2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Crossroads Church of Amarillo, 1924 S. Polk Street.

A Funeral Service honoring Jet’s life will be held immediately following the visitation, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Church.  The family invites all to attend a “Celebration of Jet’s Life” at 4:30 p.m. (after the funeral service) at the Reed Beverage Hospitality Room, 3701 SE 25th Ave.
