Joe Lewis Jimenez, 52, of Amarillo passed away July 25, 2024. He was born June 16, 1972, in Littlefield, Texas to Baldemar and Luisa Jimenez.
The family will receive visitors Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave. in Amarillo.
A Service will be held on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 14200 Texas Plains Trail, I-27, Amarillo. (I-27 headed south from Amarillo, take the McCormick exit.)
He loved to play and watch football and baseball and equally loved watching his kids play sports. He loved to grill and cook out. Joe’s work background was doing upholstery and stucco work.
His son, Joey loved going to Mr. Gattis and playing arcade games with his dad. Joe enjoyed watching movies like Rush Hour, Marvel & DC movies.
Joe had a great love for his family. He was a jokester, the life of the room. One of his favorite things to do was to scare his friends and family as a joke. He often wrestled with his eldest son, Jonathon.
He enjoyed spoiling his only daughter, Mariah by serving her breakfast in bed. It’s a memory she will always cherish.
Joe had the best nieces and nephews, and he cherished them. He was loved by many people; he will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Baldemar Jimenez.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jonathon Lee Jimenez and Joe Lewis Jimenez, Jr. (Joey), his daughter, Mariah A. Jimenez, all of Anton, Texas; his beloved mother, Luisa O. Jimenez, of Amarillo; his brother, Jimmy Jimenez, two sisters, Jennifer Jimenez, and Janessa Gutierrez and husband Benito, of Amarillo, several nieces and nephews, two great-nieces and one great-nephew. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Lupita Carrillo, of Amarillo, Texas.
Joe (aka Jose Luis) was a big part of our and our family’s lives. He became our bestfriend in no time. Our oldest granddaughter’s, (ZoRiyah) Godfather. Then he was welcomed into our family with open arms as our brother in law and uncle to our kids and grandkids. We ALL loved him as one of our own. He was the most kindness person with a big heart. Jose Luis we are sure gonna miss you, ur smile, laugh, hugs, jokes and definitely you being so loud, louder in public and embarrassing us. So many memories that our family has of you you will never be forgotten. WE (Henry, Malena, Tyson, ZoRiyah, Bekka, Matt, Carlos, Yaya, Mimi and Callie) LOVE YOU CHINGOS.
