John Hutchison

John Hutchison, 67, of Amarillo, Tx was called to his heavenly home on June 24, 2021, while surrounded by his family, in Amarillo, Texas. John was born on July 6, 1953 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Tony Hutchison and Ruby Hoskins.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday June 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Oasis Church of Amarillo. Visitation will be at Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services if Amarillo on Saturday 06/26/2021 from 4:00-6:00 pm. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services of Amarillo.

John was a kind, loving husband, father, uncle, and son. He worked hard to provide for his family as a truck driver for 40 years before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, five sisters and one brother.

He is survived by wife Teresa Hutchison; children, April Francis and husband Jeremy, Heather Walker and husband Kelsey, Anthony Hutchison, and wife, Miriam; and Halie Ballard and husband Brian; fourteen grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter. He is also survived by two sisters, Clydella Upsha and Mary Hawkins, both of Amarillo; two brothers Tommy Marlar of Ponca City Ok, and Darryl Hutchison of Red Rock, Ok., along with many nieces and nephews.

    John always had a good joke to tell. Some he made up! They were funny. Over the years he would repeat some of them during our visits and I would laugh just as hard as the first time I heard them. His Indian name was “Dances With Difficulty”.
