Jordan Michael Gibson, 25, of Vega, passed away March 15, 2025. He was born on April 10, 1999, in Amarillo to Vanessa Renee Gibson and Rogelio Arellano.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave.

A Funeral will be held at the same location on Saturday March 22, at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be at Panhandle Cemetery, Panhandle Texas at 2:00 p.m.

Jordan Michael Gibson, de 25 años, de Vega, falleció el 15 de marzo de 2025. Nació el 10 de abril de 1999 en Amarillo, hijo de Vanessa Renee Gibson y Rogelio Arellano.

Jordan Michael Gibson, 25, of Vega, passed away March 15, 2025.  He was born on April 10, 1999, in Amarillo to Vanessa Renee Gibson and Rogelio Arellano.

Jordan loved playing games and made a special connection with his girlfriend, Lena.  He adored his daughter, Vanna.  He enjoyed music and poetry and began writing his own poems from a very young age.  He was also talented at drawing and calligraphy.  Jordan enjoyed cooking and working with his father at their family restaurant.

He loved riding his motorcycle and playing video games.  His favorite food was ribeye steak!

His father remembers one of their final meals together, Jordan ate charro beans.  Never had he seen Jordan eat charro beans, so his dad said, “Now you are a real Mexican!”  Jordan thought that was hilarious.  His father remembers Jordan always lovingly referred him as “Roggie, Viejo Gordo!”

His grandmother remembers watching him build anything with Leggos.  He often tried to teach her how, but she just watched instead.  “He made me laugh, my first grandchild who opened the world to me.”

Jordan was loved and he touched the lives of so many and will be very missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vanessa Gibson Salinas, of Borger; great grandparents, Rossie and Gene Gideon, both of Panhandle, Texas, and Abel Arellano, as well as his “house dad” Ronnie Thomlinson of Quinlan, Texas.

Jordan is survived by his father, Rogelio Arellano of Vega and his wife Tina Trujillo; his stepfather, Fernando Salinas; his brother Fernando David Salinas; a sister, Alexa Salinas, all of Borger; his beloved daughter, Nirvana (Vanna) Gibson, of Canyon; his grandmother, June Gibson of Amarillo; his grandparents, David and Carla Gibson of Amarillo, and Bertha Hernandez; his uncle, William Gibson and family of Kalispell, Montana; an uncle, Jeromy Gibson of Panhandle; his aunts and uncles, Misael Arellano, Evelia Arellano, Hilda Arellano, Nelida Arellano, Francisco Arellano, and Karina Arellano.

A Jordan le encantaba jugar e hizo una conexión especial con su novia, Lena. Adoraba a su hija, Vanna. Le gustaba la música y la poesía y comenzó a escribir sus propios poemas desde muy joven. También tenía talento para el dibujo y la caligrafía. A Jordan le gustaba cocinar y trabajar con su padre en el restaurante familiar. Le encantaba andar en motocicleta y jugar videojuegos. ¡Su comida favorita era el filete de chuletón!

Su padre recuerda que una de sus últimas comidas juntos, Jordán comió frijoles charros. Nunca había visto a Jordan comer frijoles charros, así que su papá le dijo: “¡Ahora eres un mexicano de verdad!”. Jordan pensó que era gracioso. Su padre recuerda que Jordan siempre se refería cariñosamente a él como “Roggie, Viejo Gordo”.

Su abuela recuerda haberlo visto construir cualquier cosa con Leggos. A menudo intentaba enseñarle cómo hacerlo, pero ella se limitaba a mirar. “Me hizo reír, mi primer nieto que me abrió el mundo”.

Jordan fue amado y tocó la vida de muchos y lo extrañaremos mucho.
