Josh Patrick Fawell, known to all as Josh, a man of courage, dedication, humility, and loyalty, passed away on September 8, 2025. Born on April 14, 1973, in Hale Center, Texas, Josh lived a life that personified the strength of character and the depth of love. He was a loving husband, an exceptional father, and a stalwart friend, who touched the lives of everyone he met with his humility and kindness.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. this Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Hillside Christian Church, 600 Tascosa Rd., Amarillo, Texas.
Josh was an accomplished Flight Mechanic, dedicated to his craft at Bell Helicopter for 15 years. His competence and commitment in his field were commendable, and he was deeply appreciated by his colleagues. Outside of his profession, Josh was a man of diverse interests. He was a passionate collector of hot wheels and coins, and his love for nurturing life was evident in his keen interest in aquariums and fish. Embracing the Catholic faith in 2025, Josh embodied the verse from Philippians 2:3, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” This was the essence of Josh, always putting others before himself, always there to lend a hand or a shoulder to lean on.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Kenda Fawell, and his beloved sister, Kelly Pierce. Josh was a man who found the most joy in the presence of his family, the heart and soul of his existence. He fought bravely against cancer for almost four years, demonstrating his tenacity and resilience, his strength a beacon for those around him.
Josh is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Fawell; his children, Kenda Sutton and husband Shawn and Jaret Fawell; his stepchildren, Chandler Reeves and wife Kyra, Kellan Martinez, and Brayden Reeves, and his stepmother Brenda Fawell.
In the words of Saint Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7). Josh’s life was indeed a good fight, filled with love, grace, and courage. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Josh and I met playing soccer in Elementary School. We became fast friends. I remember, he used to brag to everyone about my Mom’s breakfast when we’d have sleepovers at my house. I don’t know if he was trying to hint to Mrs. Fawell or just being extra nice to my Mom, but it made me smile.
Although we grew apart over the years, I always loved seeing him in the halls or later stumbling across a Facebook post as we grew older He was a proud to be a father and husband, and he was a lifelong friend. He will be missed.
Josh and I grew closer together over the past couple of years. We had lots of laughs and serious conversations. We had the type of friendship that people sometimes thought we didn’t like each other and we would just laugh about it. He always made my bad days better with his smart remarks or things he would call me and then we would just laugh together. I’m truly gonna miss my buddy.
Josh, you were a wonderful man. I enjoyed working with you and being your friend. Rest well my buddy!
I’m the cafeteria lady at Bell. Josh was one of my good customers. Always gave me a hard time about the price. I visited with him often. I prayed for him and family. He loved you guys fiercely.
Growing up with Josh, he always made any situation fun and exciting. Josh always brought humor to the room.
My heart is heavy for his passing and for his family.
God speed my brother. You will be missed.
