Joshua Edward Brandl, 40, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on April 16, 2025. He was born on June 7, 1984, welcomed by his family of Socorro New Mexico. He was an amazing man who touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and generous spirit. Known for always finding a way to make people smile—even when they didn’t feel like it—Joshua brought joy and light wherever he went.

Throughout his life, Joshua embraced many roles: a devoted son, a loving brother, a proud father, and a loyal friend. He was often seen around town offering help to those in need, especially the homeless, always guided by a deep compassion for others.

A passionate and avid gamer, Joshua enjoyed role-playing games, board games, card games, and live-action role-playing (LARPing). His creativity and playful energy made him a beloved presence in every community he was part of.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Phillis Brandl.

Joshua is survived by his children; his father; his sister; his aunts, uncles; many cousins, as well as his many friends.

Joshua’s warmth, laughter, and generous soul will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. The sum total of a person’s life is what they leave to posterity. Accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative. It’s more than just a cliche, it’s how he lived his life. He has touched many lives and will live on in our hearts. Services will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Joshua’s memory be made to a charity of your choice.
