Juan Alberto “Chino” Mendoza, born October 8, 1980, in Harlingen, Texas, was a man of many talents and immense kindness. His life was a testament to his resilience, love for learning, and deep dedication to his loved ones. Known for his captivating smile and an infectious sense of humor, Juan brought light and warmth into every room he entered. His boundless curiosity and adventurous spirit led him to become a long-haul truck driver, a profession that allowed him to explore the highways and byways of America.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday July 7, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral Home Chapel, 3707 Wolflin Ave, Amarillo.

A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, at Lighthouse Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at the same location at 12:00 noon. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 E. Interstate 40.

Juan was a jack of all trades, always eager to expand his knowledge and skills. He spent countless hours hiking, gaming, building computers, and exploring graphic design. His zest for life and passion for learning inspired those around him. Juan’s caring nature was particularly evident in his dedication to family and friends. He took immense joy in helping to raise several children in his family, creating a lasting legacy of love and nurturing.

Juan is survived by his mother, Heriberta Mendoza; his siblings, Lorena, Omar, Jose Jr, Maria, and Jose Mendoza; and his nieces and nephews, Kathy Hernandez, Omar Mendoza, Journee Mendoza, Luis Magallon, Lorena Magallon, Cesar Magallon, Valerie Magallon, Emily Mendoza, Andrea Meza, Mia Meza, Brodie Mendoza, Lexi Mendoza, and Legaci Mendoza. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Mendoza.

Juan lived a life filled with love, kindness, and adventure. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends and through the lives of the children he helped raise.
