Juana Bugarin, 73, of Dimmitt, passed away on November 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 5, 1952, in Lubbock Texas to Rafael Guajardo, Sr. and Juana Silva Guajardo.
Funeral Services have been set for Friday, November 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Concepcion Catholic Church in Dimmitt, Texas. Interment will follow at Castro County Memorial Park.
Juana worked for WIC for over 20 years and served as an LVN. Juana proudly served as a member of the Dimmitt City Council. She loved escaping through reading romance books, watching old movies and listening to music.
She loved people so much and she would help anyone who needed it. Juana was very creative, and she enjoyed making rosaries. Juana loved spending time with her family and friends and playing Mexican Loteria.
Juana was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Juana Guajardo; her grandmother, Paula Silva; brothers, Rafael Guajardo, Jr., Frank Guajardo, and Raymond Guajardo; a nephew, Jose Lopez, and a niece, Maria Luisa Garcia.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Engelberto Bugarin, Sr., of Dimmitt; a son, Engelberto Bugarin, Jr. and wife Gloria, of Amarillo; grandchildren, Manuel Bugarin, and Marissa Lancho and husband Luis, all of Amarillo; great-granddaughter, Emily Lancho; sisters, Maria Elena Guajardo of Dimmitt, and Alice Lopez and husband Joe of Andrews; a brother, Jessie Guajardo and wife Cynthia of Bedford, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

I’ve lived away from Dimmitt for almost 20 years, but I was immediately saddened to hear of Janie’s passing. Her laughter and sense of humor were my favorite things about her. My prayers and condolences to her entire family.
