Karsten Alana Klein, born April 17, 2026, returned to her creator that very same day.

In the short time we enjoyed life with her, she knew only the love and comfort of being in her parents’ arms. We’d like to think we learned something about the spirit God placed in her little body. Maybe the sweet cravings were telling us that she was kind and caring. Maybe the displays of strength during ultrasounds and procedures showed us that she was a force to be reckoned with.

Maybe her tendency to hang out on one particular side of her mom’s belly was a sign that she looked for things that were good and “right.” And maybe the intense desire for peanut butter meant she was just a little nutty. But mostly, maybe the calm she settled into when her dad tapped on the belly meant that she knew she had a family that loved her and cared for her.  God, we pray that’s the case.

Until we meet you again in that bright city, sweet, strong, nutty girl.
