Katrina Maria Garcia, 49, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, September 5, 2021. She was born on August 23, 1972, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Roman and Julianita (Lucero) Garcia.
A Celebration of Katrina’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at MORE Church, 5511 W. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo, Texas.
She married the love of her life, Vicente Garcia on April 14, 1990. Together they created a world of loving, giving, and celebrating life together, always willing to include their precious family and friends.
One of her dear friends lovingly described her this way:
“She was tiny, tipping the ruler hardly past four feet, but her JOY skyrocketed past the million-inch mark. Katrina brought an ease and laughter to every circle she stepped into. Her heart was for the underdog; she cheered us all on, encouraging and waiting on the sidelines just like an over-zealous soccer mom. Her extreme nurturing created the beautiful children that she and Vincent have, and watching them parent over all these years made me realize that you can do it with crazy love AND with caring discipline.
If you knew her, you know Katrina’s title of “Hostess-with-the-Mostest” was well-deserved. Katrina supported everyone’s dreams, and she did so without judgement.” (A.H.)
She was preceded in death by father in law, Art Grant.
Those left to cherish Katrina’s memory are her beloved husband, Vincent; her parents, Roman and Julianita Garcia; mother-in-law, Patricia Grant; her loving children, Sandra and husband Josh Ramirez, Job Garcia and wife, Tavi, and Jazia Garcia and wife, Tommie; six grandchildren Aubriauna, Reager, Aria, Noah, Isaiah, and Vaughn (due Nov 2021). She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and countless friends who loved and cherished her.
Katrina was definitely a happy SON-shiner where ever she was. Full of loving happiness. Thank you Katrina for the joy you continue to bring in knowing you ❤️????
Oh how I loved and will miss Katrina. She was the light in the room that all were attracted to. She loved with a real love and had the servant heart of the Lord. I am glad to have known her and look forward to seeing her again one day. She will be dearly missed by all.
Her smile and her laugh are just a few of the things that I will absolutely miss about Katrina. Thank you for loving my kids and being their Nani. ❤️
I have known Katrina for over 30 years; even before she and Vincent married. Seeing her, over the years, in different situations, and she always brought calmness, dignity and positivity. Now, her graceful and loving soul is needed elsewhere. The whole world will miss her beautiful heart.
I can’t attend the Celebration of Life gathering. My condolences to all. I love you
Peace be with your spirit. God bless you.
