Kenneth Leon Brown was born on November 16, 1954, in Amarillo, Texas. The Lord called him to his eternal home at age 70 on the evening of September 19, 2025, surrounded by his family.

His funeral will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Canyon, Texas at 12:30 p.m. on September 25, 2025. He will be buried in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas. 

He was strong in his faith, regularly attending church, and serving a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 1977 to 1979 in New England. It was at church that he met Joan, and together they built a home and loving family. They were married in the Jordan River Temple on September 30, 1983. He raised his children according to his faith and taught them to have strong morals and values, which they have passed on to their children. 

Kenneth was a master carpenter that left a lasting impact on everyone he worked for through his talent and skills. He not only used this skill as a career, but also a hobby, frequently teaching his children invaluable talents that they have mastered and continued to use. He had an extensive tool collection.  Kenneth’s “addiction” to tools caused him to buy a new one almost every time he went to Lowe’s or Home Depot. His love for those tools was not far behind his love for his family (possibly above it). 

He remodeled and built onto his own home, building his family anything they asked for. He custom built furniture for his children and grandchildren, leaving behind not only beautiful pieces, but a strong daily reminder of the love he carried. 

Though soft spoken and quiet, he poured out his love for everyone through countless acts of service. He enjoyed playing volleyball and played as often as he could until his body was no longer able to. He loved to sit in his recliner after a long day of work to watch a movie or show, sci-fi and John Wayne movies being his all-time favorites. All of his hobbies were joyfully passed down to his children. 

Happiest around his grandkids, he let out his inner child, soaking up their laughter and every moment with them. He learned to be a kind and gentle man from his father and taught his children in the same way. He will forever be remembered as the most amazing husband, father, and grandfather, whose life overflowed with love. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Leon and Mateel Brown, and brother-in-law David Paul Brohlin.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Margaret Brown (maiden names Dierks and Tiemann,) both of his children, Kenneth Todd Brown and Christina DeLynne Brown, and his sister Linda Ann Brohlin.   He is also survived by four grandchildren, Endymion Brown, Jordyn, Dakota, and Oaklee Shipley.
