Memorial services for Kenneth Wayne Estes, 87, of Amarillo, Texas, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Back Pavilion of the Amarillo Botanical Gardens, 1400 Streit Drive.

Kenneth passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2024. Born on December 26, 1936, in Santa Anna, Texas, to Herman and Edna Estes, he graduated from Bovina High School and attended Hardin-Simmons University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

A devoted member of The Church at Quail Creek, Kenneth and his wife dedicated their lives to nurturing children in the childcare industry, earning special recognition and numerous awards. He was passionate about studying the Bible and sharing the gospel. He was an avid fisherman and loved finding treasures at local garage and estate sales. He also expressed his creativity through oil painting, plaster crafts, photography, furniture building, and sand art.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Suezy Estes Smith; and son, Lance Estes.

Kenneth is survived by his wife; Ofelia Estes; sons and daughters-in-law; Ken and Judy Estes, Chris and Heather Estes, Aaron and Brandi Estes, Matthew Estes Craig; daughter and son-in-law, Krysta and Ed Garrison; grandchildren: Jace, Skye, Evan, Ashton, Alec, Nathan, Olivia, Caroline, Lucy, Paul, Abby, Trent, Kaylen, Zeke; and numerous great-grandchildren.
