Kitty Louise Jaynes, 80, of Amarillo passed away November 16, 2024. Kitty was born March 6, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio to Raymond and Harriette Jaynes.

She moved to Texas with her family in 1960. Kitty had many memories of traveling and moving around. She loved sitting down with her great niece and nephew, Brittanie and Darius. She enjoyed sharing her stories of what she called a great and exciting life. Although she moved and lived many places, she always called Amarillo home and always came back. She worked many years at John Chandler Ford, managed TGI Fridays and then moved on to work for the Military Entrance Processing Station. She loved working at M.E.P.S. and was so proud of her “kids” who joined the military. She wasn’t happy about retiring, but knew it was time.

Kitty was very active and loved going to church where she was a member and served as a door greeter at Victory Church. If you knew Kitty, you knew she loved Hello Kitty and had them everywhere.

Kitty enjoyed traveling when she could to visit her brother Dean and her sons, Dan and Mike. When she had down time, she was either watching Blue Bloods or Christmas movies.

She was very loved and had many friends. She would help anyone in any way that she could. She couldn’t wait to see her brother Ron and sister Judy in Heaven. They are finally together again, singing with the Lord!

Kitty was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Judy, and her brother Ronnie.

She is survived by her niece Darla Woods, who was more like her daughter and caretaker; her brother Dean Jaynes and his family of Mississippi; her sons Danny and his wife, Carol and their family of Anson, Texas, and Mike of Abilene; great niece Brittanie and her children Kaiya and Lanny of Amarillo; her great-nephew Darius and wife Anyssa, and their children, Carsen and Ariana, of Lubbock; great niece Ashley and husband Clay, and their children, Sirr and Peyton; Nancy Jaynes, her sister-in-law of Amarillo; her granddaughter, Tasha Summers-Brown, and Lexi as well as many other family members and special close friends.
