Larry Ray Collier, 78, of Amarillo, was ushered into the arms of Jesus, Sunday, September 18, 2022, with his loving family at his side. Larry was born November 18, 1943, in Ringling, Oklahoma, to W.J. “Dub” and Tama Mae “Dottie” (Perry) Collier.
A Memorial Service will be held for Larry at 2:00 p.m., this Thursday, September 22, at Southwest Church of Christ, 4515 Cornell Street, in Amarillo.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Dub Collier and Dottie Hickey; his stepmother, Marie Collier; his paternal grandparents, Memaw and Papaw, Lon and “Tex” Collier, and his brother, Jerry Collier.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving bride of 56 years, Marita (Hardy) Collier; his son, Brent Collier and wife Melvonna of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Emily Collier of Clarksville, Tennessee and Nathan Collier of Amarillo; his stepsister, Paulette Hutchinson; adopted sister, Connie Howard, and husband Joey of Burleson; a sister-in-law, Freda Collier of Canadian; his brother’s children, nephew Jerry Scott Collier and wife Becky of Miami, Texas, and niece, Julie Woodall and husband Danny of Porum, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Marquita Duff and husband Bill of Lubbock, and Deanna Austin and husband Lynn of Fritch; a brother-in-law Steve Hardy and wife Shonda of Dallas, along with several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special cousin, Darlene, and his precious fur baby, Katie.
