Leon Arthur Baker, 79, of Amarillo passed away on November 7, 2025. He was born in Amarillo on September 5, 1946, to Leon and Christine Baker.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 22, 2025, at Galilee Church of God in Christ, 2502 N. Mirror, Amarillo, Texas, 79107.

Leon attended Carver High, “Class of 1965.” He was a very hard worker. In 1974-1975 he lived in Tucson where he worked in construction with his uncle. Realizing that Amarillo was home, he returned and worked for IBP for many years. Eventually he retired from Monfort Beef Packing in Dumas, Texas.

Leon also did lawn and landscaping and thought he was the world’s best mechanic on any lawn equipment. Leon loved fishing, hunting, and playing pool. his nickname was “Pooley” but to the immediate family he was “The 357.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Christine Baker; his wife Reda Rabb; two brothers, Joe Miller and J.B. Baker, and two beloved sons.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Kermiet (Delois) of Amarillo, Charles (Carolyn) of Hereford, and Edward of Amarillo; a stepsister Tabitha of Amarillo, and a stepdaughter Ronie of Dallas, and a host of relatives and friends.
