Lloyd Ray Samaniego, 63, of Amarillo, passed away October 12, 2023. He was born October 20, 1959, in Henrietta Texas, to Paul and Placida (Villanueva) Samaniego.
Lloyd grew up in Dalhart, Texas. He loved farming with his dad, and he enjoyed auto mechanics. He worked for a local dealership for a time, working on cars. Keith Whitley was his favorite country music artist. Lloyd also loved watching Bonanza on television.
He was a great handyman who could fix almost anything. Lloyd loved giving his nieces and nephews rides on his cool wheelchair. He enjoyed having wheelchair races with his friends who lived in his apartment complex. Lloyd will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Paul Samaniego, Jr., and Matthew Samaniego; his twin sister, Joyce Faye Pedroza, and a sister, Susie Ramos.
Lloyd is survived by his siblings, Caroline Blanco, Silvia De La Paz, Johnny Samaniego, Rita Steward, and Joe Samaniego, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service celebrating Lloyd’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Lighthouse Funeral Home Chapel.
A Rosary will be recited at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel prior to the service.
Tio Lloyd, though I am saddened that you are no longer with us, in spirit I know you are still here looking over me. Thank you for always being there for me, from day 1. Thank you for all the wonderful memories that i will cherish forevermore. I believe you are happily walking in heaven with our Heavenly Father. In Jesus name. Amen I believe you are with your other half and your parents 🙏 ❤️ love you and will miss you.
