Mary “Joyce” Milhoan, 89, of Amarillo, passed away on October 27, 2025. She was born in Rome, Georgia on December 9, 1935, to Henry and Martha Beam.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave. Funeral Services will be at the same location at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 31. Interment will follow at Palo Duro Cemetery in Wildorado, 5701 FM 809, Wildorado, Texas.
Joyce loved and worked with special needs children and adults at Amarillo State Center and in the Montana School System.
She loved her life as a “preacher’s wife,” and loved singing in the church. Even though Alzheimer’s took her memory, she never forgot to pray, and she always talked to God. Joyce still loved to sing and remembered every song!! Everyone was always amazed when she sang. Joyce was loved and she will be missed.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Beam and Martha Chambers-Miller; her husband, Elmer Ray Milhoan, and a daughter, Cheryl Kay King.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna Milhoan-Cecil; a son, Ron Milhoan, and a sister-in-law, Jo Beam. She is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
I.have many fond memories of Joyce. I remember her and Judy singing In the Garden at The Country Church. She was a great helpmate to Bro Ray. She will be missed.
