Meredith Maynard Knepp, Jr. 77 of Amarillo, was a devoted Christian who joined his beloved Lord on Saturday, May 10, 2025. He was born on June 14, 1947, in Portales, New Mexico to Meredith Knepp, Sr. and Virginia Joiner Knepp.
Viewing will be from 1-5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, Lighthouse Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 14200 Texas Plains Trl., (Interstate 27.)
Meredith was a faithful servant of the Lord. He was baptized as a young teen and became a preacher at Church of Christ. After graduating from Tascosa High School in 1965, Meredith joined the Navy and served for 14 years. He later worked for Colorado Interstate Gas Company (CIG) before retiring in 2000.
Meredith enjoyed golfing, fast cars, and telling corny jokes. He loved making all those he came in contact with laugh. One of his many blessings was his voice. Meredith was often singing hymns with his family and many other church members.
Meredith was preceded in death by his parents, Meredith Knepp Sr., and Virginia Knepp, as well as a brother, Douglas Knepp.
He is survived by his brother, Kim Knepp, and sister Angela Leatherman. Meredith was a father to three surviving sons, Kenneth Knepp Sr., and wife Rachelle, Kevin Knepp, and Kal Knepp, and wife Vanessa. He was blessed with four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
Meredith was a friend to many. All those loved him and will miss him dearly.

I could always count on him to get us singing, anytime anywhere. Whether it was just the 2 of us or anybody else he could grab. I’ll miss that most of all
Meredith Knepp was a very sweet man. He was one to make sure l was welcomed to the neighborhood after moving across the street He had a sweet smile and eyes that glowed. He will be missed by all who knew him . RIP in the arms of our Lord
My fondest memory was “cousin”time. The many times that Uncle Metedith brought the family to Iowa or our family went to Texas. Spending time with the whole family playing crochet or volleyball. Driving around town or just hanging out. Bonding with my cousins and laughing. Those days were special.
Took Meredith and Linda to Lubbock with all of my friends and they met going there with us. They started dating and really fell in love. Linda loved him so much and Meredith loved her. Linda will miss him so
