Michael Key, 79, of Amarillo Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 5, 2023. He was born on December 20, 1943, to Tommie and Mary (Waring) Key in San Angelo, Texas.
He married the love of his life Carol on April 17, 1970, at which time he also took on the role of “Dad” to Kelly and Marcy.
During his life he worked as an auto parts salesman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the yard and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tommie and Mary Key; a sister Sarah Painter, and one granddaughter Brittani Anthony Caswell.
He is survived by his wife Carol of the home; daughters Kelly Anthony and husband Jackey of Amarillo, Texas, and Marcy Faulkenberry and husband Rodney of Talihina, Oklahoma; grandsons, Michael Odle and wife Jessica of Mannford, Oklahoma, James Christopher Anthony of Kaufman, Texas; granddaughter Hope Buzidragis and husband JJ of McAlister, Oklahoma; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; two nieces, Tara Hogan and Robin McClain, and one nephew, Marty Wilson. Michael is also survived by his special friend “Gracie,” his cat.
The celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 10:00 am at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave, Amarillo, Texas, 79102.
A Committal Service will follow at 11:15 am at Memorial Park Cemetery, Amarillo, Texas, 79118.
I remember Mike as an even-tempered, sweet soul whose smile was inviting and infectious. It was always a pleasure to sit and visit with him.
