Mitchell Sanchez “Martinez”, 38, passed away on October 26, 2021. He was born in Burlington, Colorado on August 11, 1983.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021 at St. Laurence Catholic Church with Father Taylor Elzner as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery East.
A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 31, at the Lighthouse Chapel, 3707 Wolflin Avenue, Amarillo.
Mitchell graduated from Plainview High School in 2001. He enjoyed being a father to his son, and being with family and friends. He loved making people laugh. Mitchell was unapologetic and always kept it real. One of his greatest attributes was his willingness to help anyone in need. His selfless heart was one-of-a-kind, and his dedication to his nieces and nephews was endless. They were his pride and joy.
When you think of Mitchell, please remember all the times he made you feel special. Remember that he did whatever it took to be there for you at any give moment. Remember his contagious smile, and laugh. Mitchell will be missed tremendously, and will live on in all of our hearts.
Mitchell is survived by his grandmother, Maria Sanchez of Burlington, Colorado; his parents, Isidro and Elizabeth Martinez, of Amarillo; his beloved son, Seandonathan Augustine Sanchez; two brothers, Robert Nunez and wife Lauren of San Angelo, and Paul Martinez and wife Amanda of Amarillo; two sisters, Leslie Martinez, and Melonie Martinez and husband David of Amarillo. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces. “Our family was large and Mitchell loved every single one of us.”
