I haven’t been in Amarillo but a year, but while trying to fill my home with goodies, so many people directed me to Mr. Maldonado’s shop. I became a frequent flyer and with that came getting to know Mr. Maldonado himself. What an amazing guy and pillar of the Amarillo community. He was always so kind to me and his smile and laugh lit the shop. Most of my home was furnished by Mr. Maldonado. It’s sure going to be hard to go back, knowing he won’t be there, but his 30+ year legacy will not be lost. Sending continued loving prayers to the friends and family of such a good man.

  14. Terry Briscoe

Mr. Maldanado was one of my favorite business people in town. I went by his store at least once every few months and sometimes every week when looking for a special item. He was fun to trade with and I loved making furniture deals with him and buying and selling furniture. I just found out he had passed yesterday when I went to his store and was so sad for his loss. Thinking of his wife and family and sending prayers.

I’m very sadden to hear about Mr. Maldonado’s passing. He was a very nice, friendly man. He always said hi to my kids and asked about them if they weren’t with me. He was a fair businessman and I enjoyed our chats.

Oh my gosh, I hadnt been in the store for awhile but I just found out about him. I was actually referring Oscar to someone and another person said he had passed. He was an amazing man and so helpful. If he didn’t have it, he would find it. He will be truly missed.
