Parker Brice German, 47, of Amarillo, passed away on March 31, 2026. A native of Amarillo, he was born on January 16, 1979, to Donald Glenn and Susan Elizabeth (Thompson) German.
He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1997. He was an Eagle Scout with Troop 80 and a Chief with the Kwahadi Indian Dancers.
Parker enjoyed cooking and trying a variety of cuisines and culinary styles. His hobbies included rock climbing, watching cooking shows and competitions, and spending quality time with friends. He also loved vintage movies.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan German; grandparents, Paul and Adron German, and Charlie and Bette Thompson; and uncles, Huey German and Jerry German.
Left to cherish his memory are his father, Donald German of Amarillo; his daughters, Sarah and Paylin Defoor German of Amarillo; uncles George German, David Thompson, and Larry Thompson of Amarillo; an aunt, Ruth Ann German of Amarillo; and cousins Billy Paul German, Michelle German, Jeremy Irlbeck, all of Amarillo, and Heather Thompson of Dallas.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo, Texas.
When I worked with Parker during the colder months he would pull my car up to the door for me so I wouldn’t have to walk in the cold across the parking lot.
He made me food…a lot. Sometimes at work for my dinner and sometimes it was leftovers from home.
He bought me so many stuffed penguins and they were “our children”… because I was obsessed with penguins.
Any time I knew he was having a rough day or we weren’t working an evening shift together, I left him little May the Force Be With You positivity notes. A couple of times I got them from him.
He always covered a shift for me when I was too sick to work or something came up. And I did the same for him if he got scheduled during a throwback movie showing when I could.
I could go on forever. I have years of the best memories with such a selfless friend.
My favorite memories of Parker are when he took pride in being a girl dad, cheer dad and Girl Scout dad. He loved being a dad. He was a good dad. He was an amazing person from day 1 to me and my girls. We loved him so much.
Donald, my heart breaks for you. I understand loosing a child is a horrific event in your life. Know that I am here with the shared experience. Many prayers to you as you go through this time.
Donald, my heart goes out to you. This is a time that I cannot begin to understand…not having had children. My prayers are for God to give you the strength to walk through this valley.
I had not met Parker, but seeing his photo here, there is no doubt he is your son. Amazing, how much he looked like you!
