Peggy Ann Harris of Amarillo, Texas passed away August 5, 2024. She was born in Cleburne, Texas, on August 5, 1952, to John Harold and Doris Faye (Holland) Walker.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Peggy had a huge love for Elvis Presley and cats. She was a shining light at Amarillo National Tennis Center. She was a true embodiment of warmth and kindness, known for always having a smile and a kind word for everyone who crossed her path. Peggy worked at the tennis center for fifteen years, finding it to be not only her job but her second home. She took immense pride in creating an inviting atmosphere with words of encouragement, making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated.

One of Peggy’s most endearing qualities was her habit of always remembering to wish everyone a happy birthday, no matter how busy her day was. She made sure to spread joy with her heartfelt greetings and thoughtful compliments, making each person feel special. Peggy’s kindness extended far beyond the tennis center. She was a friend, a confidant, and a source of positivity for all who knew her. Her generosity of spirit and unwavering support for others left a lasting impact on our hearts. Peggy will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness, warmth and love will continue to inspire us all.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents John Harold Walker and Doris Faye (Holland) Walker.

Those left to cherish her memory are her longtime companion Larry Dean Harbin of Amarillo; her brother John Walker of Alvarado, Texas; her son Johnathan Harris (Valerie) of Clyde, Texas; her daughter Jennifer (Ashley) of Clyde, Texas; her grandson Mason Harris, and granddaughters Alexis and Haleigh Gober, and Kyndall and Brookelyn Harris.
