Phylecia Rowland, 60, of Amarillo passed away February 19, 2023. She was born July 21, 1962, in Clovis, New Mexico to Jeryce “Jigger” and Delores (Harrell) Rowland. She graduated from Hereford High School in 1980.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, in the Lighthouse Funeral Chapel, 3707 Wolflin Ave. Amarillo, Texas. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services.
Phylecia never met a stranger and was a friend to all. She was best known for her many talents and sparkling personality. Whether it was riding horses, modeling, or bungee jumping, Phylecia enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her family, camping, traveling, and trying new things. Knowing Phylecia was knowing all the best restaurants in all the best towns. She loved playing host during the holidays, and she was everyone’s favorite travel partner. Her contagious love was a joy to everyone who was lucky enough to have met her. Phylecia was a wonderful daughter, mother, aunt, sister, and friend. She will be abundantly missed.
Those left to cherish Phylecia’s memories are her mother, Delores Rowland; her father, “Jigger” Rowland; a daughter, Brooklyn Turner; a son, Josh Carruthers and wife Brigette; a brother, Allyn Rowland; two nieces, Megan Rowland and Lexi Studer and husband Nathan; a granddaughter, Zoee Carruthers; two grandnephews, one grandniece; her beloved dogs, Storm, Nevaeh, and Little Girl; her closest friends Sharon Hayes and Helen Pope; former husband and dear friend, Steve Turner, as well as countless others who love her.

So very sad to hear this… Jigger and Delores were the faithful and kind neighbors of my Mother, Helen Coffman for years and were such a blessing to our family… May The Lord comfort them in their sorrow is our prayer ?
