Rebecca “Becky” Ann King, 73, of Amarillo passed away on June 3, 2025. She was born in Roswell, New Mexico on June 21, 1951, to Royce Morris and Kathleen Arnold.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., June 21, 2025, at Beacon Baptist Church, 417 S. McMasters St., Amarillo.
Becky was born on June 21, 1951, in Roswell New Mexico. Shortly after the family moved to the Texas Panhandle. Becky graduated from Vega High in 1969. Not long after that Becky completed the nursing program at Amarillo College and went on to work as a LVN for 30 years.
Becky found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid domino player, known for her competitive spirit. She loved a good bingo game. She loves to play but she truly loved to win.
When not at a game table Becky was busy doing her diamond art. Always making little knickknacks for her grandkids. If not at a game table, she would be watching Fox News. Becky loved the republican party but make no doubt about it, come Sunday morning it was church time. Due to her life circumstance, she was not able to attend church in person, she would listen to the services on her telephone every Sunday morning. People knew not to call her between 10-12pm on Sunday. Becky was loved and will be missed by many.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Royce Morris, and Kathleen Arnold and stepfather Dean Arnold, and her daughter Kristy Rodgers.
She is survived by a daughter, Melissa Darnes and her husband Aundrae of Amarillo; a son, Kevin Rodgers of Amarillo; brothers, Wayne Morris and his wife Cynthia of Amarillo, Bobby Arnold and his wife Angie of Wildorado, and Norvel Arnold and his wife Sheryl of Amarillo; her lifelong friend Jackye Taylor of Amarillo; grandchildren, Chelsie Rodgers, Ashlee Rodgers, Simmie Cobbs Jr., Jace Rodgers, McKenna Rodgers, and Madisann (Maddie) Jeffries; great-grandchildren, Jahliya Woods, Kayden Harris, Shylah Sandoval, Messiah Sandoval, Dominic Monte’s, Daniella Monte’s, Maylani Morquecho, Elissac, Celia Rodgers, and Arthur Rodgers.
My dearest friend, I will miss you terribly. My life is not the same now that you are gone. May you have the loving arms of Jesus around you and God’s grace. I love you😔🙏❤️
