Rebecca (Tady) Heiskell, born February 8, 1933, in Swartz, L.A. ascended to be with her Lord and Savior on 8-21-25 in Amarillo, Texas. She was born, the youngest of four children to Florence L. and Metta Frasier.

Rebecca was born in 1933 and later moved with her family to Sunray, Texas. A graduate of Dumas High School, she played the clarinet in the Dumas Demon band, was homecoming queen, and graduated in 1950. After graduation, she married Robert J. McFarlin and moved to the family farm in Moore County, Texas. She later moved with Robert, who joined the United States Marine Corps, to Santa Ana, California, where they welcomed their first daughter, Vicki. After Robert’s USMC tour, they moved back to the family farm where shortly after, they welcomed their second daughter, Jamie. Following his dream to become a pilot, Robert moved the family to Wichita Kansas. They were married 15 years before Robert’s tragic death on September 11, 1965, in a plane crash near Wichita, Kansas. Rebecca moved with the girls back to Dumas where she worked for the Dumas Independent School District. She married her soulmate, Harold Heiskell, on August 18, 1966, when the family became six with the addition of two sons, Steven and Les.

Harold’s job took the Family to Fritch and later to Amarillo where Tady found her second passion which was oil painting. She became quite proficient and actually “accidentally” sold some of her oil paintings.

Her first passion in life was her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. For years she had a cousin’s reunion for all of her grandchildren called MeeMee’s camp. This camp will be forever remembered because she made it so special. She painted MeeMee’s Camp on all the shirts, and her grands wore those shirts to all special activities. She, with great resistance, made all of her grandchildren strike, what at the time, were very embarrassing poses – all ascending, all looking to the left, all with hands on hips, etc. She was very organized and took the exact same picture of all the grandchildren each year in front of the tree at her home. Among other activities, MeeMee’s camp included going to the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, going to the zoo, Wonderland Park, movies, Club Fred Water Slide, Putt Putt golf, and the Buffalo Nickel Arcade.

She read her Bible daily and loved devotionals. God was very first in her life upon whom she was in constant contact, mostly on her knees, praying for her children and grandchildren. Her Paramount Baptist Church Sunday School class was so very important to her. Her beloved Shane took her to the beauty shop each Friday before their weekly lunch date. After lunch he took her to Drug Emporium and then they did whatever chores she had on her list. Until almost the very end, Shane walked her up those stairs and down the hall at Paramount Baptist Church to her Sunday school classroom until God took her home.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert McFarlin, her second husband Harold Heiskell, her parents, Metta and Florence Frasier, siblings, Buddy Frasier, Purvis Frasier, and Jereline Musick, her son Steven Heiskell, and her beloved grandson Ryan Gibbs.

She is survived by her children, Vicki Gibbs and husband Russ, of Georgetown, Texas, Jamie Tindal and husband Gary of Canyon, Texas, George Heiskell of Portland, Oregon, daughter-in-law Lynn Heiskell, of Tulia, Texas.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Candice Harbert, Shane Johnson, Chase Johnson, Sarah Goertz and husband Matt, Zach Heiskell and wife Nicole, Madison Heiskell and Significant Other Joe, Felicity Cox and husband Travis, and Bridgette Evans and significant-other Aspen.

She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, special friends Janan Rawlins Martin and Robin Heiskell, and her wonderful Sunday School Class at Paramount Baptist Church.

Celebration Of Life will be at a later time. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to City Church of Amarillo, Downtown Women’s Center, or Amarillo SPCA.
