It is with profound sorrow and yet a heart full of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Reginald Lewis Adams III, known affectionately by family as Tre, on June 23, 2025. Born January 13, 2005, in El Paso, TX, Tre brought joy and laughter to all who were privileged to know him in his short but impactful life.

Tre graduated from Palo Duro High School where he was part of the marching band. He also studied graphics design and culinary arts at AMTECH Career Academy. Tre was an avid gamer; he could often be found playing various games on his computer with his online community. When Tre wasn’t online, he could be found spending time with family, playing board games, battling on Pokemon Go, or enjoying a good murder mystery on TV.

Tre was cherished by his parents, Jamie and Nathaneal Adams, his sisters Aurora and Wednesday Adams, his cat Wybie, and a large extended family that includes his grandfather Kenneth Clarke, grandmother Tiajuana Camps, aunts Erin Hotek, Rebecca Clarke-Horn, and Jessica Clarke. Tre’s memory will also be preserved by his uncles John Hotek, and Kyler Horn, and cousins Elizabeth and Adeline Horn, and Lauren and Emily Hotek. Tre was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nellie Clarke, and Great Grandmother, Rosemary Clarke.

Tre was a beacon of hope and courage, even in the face of adversity. His bravery, resilience, and unwavering spirit after being diagnosed with lymphoma shortly after graduating high school were an inspiration to all who knew him. He had an infectious smile and a personality that could light up any room. His laughter was contagious, and his strength was awe-inspiring. As Maya Angelou said, “I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.” Tre lived by this principle, refusing to let his illness define him, and instead, he continued to radiate positivity, humor, and love until the end.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 4:00pm CDT at the Lighthouse Funeral Home, located at 3707 Wolflin Ave, Amarillo, Texas, 79102.
