Richard (Rick) Morell was born on November 3, 1969, in Ohio, to Judith Lee and Donald Richard Morell. He joined the Army in April 1997 and served as a baker until June 1998. Rick left this world to be with the Lord on December 18, 2025.

Rick met Rebecca Lynn Anderson in 2012; they were married on December 31, 2013. Becki was the love of Rick’s life. While they were together, they created a blended family. Rick spoke often of his two sons and how much he loved them, though he did not elaborate much. They had lost touch many years before he met Becki. He loved his bonus children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were the light and joy of his life.

Rick and Becki lived together with their fur babies, whom they loved dearly. Rick had a service dog, Oreo, trained by Train A Dog Save A Warrior. While training Oreo, they also trained Angel together. Oreo and Angel were by Rick’s side from the time they got them until the day he was taken to the hospital.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Lynn Morell. He is survived by his parents, Judith and Donald Morell; his brother, Jeff Morell; his sister, Deanna Morell; his two sons; his bonus daughters, Shannah Coleman of Capitan, New Mexico, and Candace Moyers and husband, Greg, of Littlefield, Texas; his grandchildren, Christopher Acker and fiancé, Angel; Bridget Reyes of Plainview, Texas; Allison Scott and fiancé, DJ, of Brownfield, Texas; Emilly Scott of Littlefield, Texas; Bryan Scott; Kaydence Coleman of Tulia, Texas; Kaycee Coleman of Capitan, New Mexico; and Libby and Tala Acker of Littlefield, Texas; and his great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Neavah, Kimbra’h, Legend, Kay’den, Shay, Kai’son, Madi, and Londynn.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
