Ronnie Moore, 69, passed away on May 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and laughter. He was a devoted husband, loyal friend, proud father and grandfather, and the kind of man who could fix anything and ran to the rescue of others without even blinking an eye.
Ronnie had a lifelong love for hot rods. He spent countless hours in his shop, taking pride in patina, and if there was a car show nearby, Ronnie was there, admiring the hard work of others. Few things made him smile like the California air and a hot rod shop.
Those who knew Ronnie will remember his talent for fixing everything and the way his eyes lit up when he talked about family, cars, and the things he loved most. His grandchildren brought immeasurable joy to his life, and he treasured every moment spent playing in the yard with them, making them laugh, and creating memories they’ll carry forever.
He was preceded in death by one of the loves of his life, his wife, Debi Moore; his parents, Kenneth and Peggy Moore; his brother, Tommy Moore, and his beloved daughter, Jennifer Daffern.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hillary Moore; his sister, Tammie Moore-Loehe; his daughter, Haylee DeVries, and husband Sheldon; his stepchildren, A.J. Sharpensteen and wife Tiffany, Kenzie Johnson and husband Tevin, and Courtney Cross and Skylar; and his cherished grandchildren, Ella, Emry, Bennett, Ryleigh, Ky, and Parker. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ronnie lived a life built on love, grit, loyalty, and horsepower. We like to think he arrived at Heaven’s gates on a beautiful hot rod to a line of family and friends that went before him.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Journey Church, 9711 FM 2186, Amarillo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BSA Hospice or Heritage Convalescent Center, whose staff went beyond caring for Ronnie during his final days.
I worked with Ronnie for over 25 years and know exactly what a wonderful man he was. He loved his family and Jesus and it showed in his life. I know he will be missed by so many and I know he’s having a glorious reunion in Heaven!See you again my friend, Mary Bandy

One of my favorite people in the world! We went racing one year in the early 90’s and got rained out. We went to a couple of haunted houses that he had cut out of a newspaper. They scared me beyond scared and he never let me forget that weekend EVERY time I saw him! He would always say something about going to a haunted house and would just laugh and laugh. Silly Ronnie! I remember as a kid riding with Ronnie and him laughing. It meant so much to me to see what loving life looked like. Ronnie did that every day! Please tell Debi and Granny hi for me. I know God will love to have your help with those two ❤️
I spent several summer nights on Ronnie’s porch with Debi and Hillary. So incredibly sad to hear that he’s gone. He helped me feel accepted and loved when I had a hard time feeling that way about myself. Such a kind and caring man. All my love to Hillary and his family.
