It is with a sad twinkle in our eyes and laughter in our hearts that we remember the adventurous life of our beloved Ronnie Stallings, who was born in Amarillo, Texas, on October 20, 1961, and left us on March 21, 2025. We are comforted by the words from the Bible, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). Ronnie lived life to the fullest. This witty and loyal man-made significant contributions as a talented and sought-after building, remodeling, and repair sub-contractor. He was highly skilled in automotive repair, carpentry, painting, and roofing. Ronnie had an eye for detail and his dependability made him a favorite for many projects over his 43-year career.

Ronnie’s adventurous spirit was as infectious as his humor. He was a man who knew how to enjoy life, whether he was out hunting, fishing, or cheering on his favorite football team. He could eat! His love for good home-cooked meals was legendary, particularly if it included fish, meat, potatoes, buttered yellow squash, and sweets. His generosity extended into his community where he frequently mowed neighbors’ lawns, fixed their cars, or lent a hand in any way he could. He was always busy! Ronnie was a helper by nature, always ready to serve others with a smile and a joke.

As we remember Ronnie, we are comforted by his faith. He had commented during the last few weeks that he was “ready to meet the Lord.” We are reminded of this word from the Bible, “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). Ronnie is survived by his son, Chistopher and wife Sherry and their two daughters; his girlfriend and companion of 34 years, Carolyn Webster; and his chosen brother and lifelong friend, Kenneth Hadley; as well as many cousins; and other endearing friends and coworkers whom he treasured. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Katherine Stallings, and his brothers Robert and George Stallings.
