Rosendo Felix Wambu-Tan, born on February 1, 1958, in Camaguey, Cuba, made his mark on the world with his spirited personality, a courage that inspired many, and a loving heart that knew no bounds. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Rosendo’s infectious energy, smart wit, and zest for life were his hallmarks. On May 18, 2025, Rosendo departed from this world, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rosendo resided in Amarillo, Texas, where he worked in the industrial construction sector, a job he performed with dedication and professionalism. Despite his professional commitments, he always found time for his true passions. His hobbies painted a picture of a man who sought joy in simple pleasures. Fishing was his sanctuary, a place where he could connect with nature, cast his reel, and lose himself in the beauty of the world around him. His love for country music was infectious, often filling his home with tunes that brought joy and unity. Weekends were always a special time for Rosendo. The smell of grilled meat wafting through the air signaled the start of cherished family moments that became treasured memories.

His love for family was monumental. Married on December 23, 1992 to Gladys Wambu-Tan, Rosendo was a beacon of love and support for his family. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter meant the world to him, and his fur babies, Blanca and Ty, brought additional joy and companionship. He delighted in the accomplishments of his nine children – Millie (Gabriel) Archer, Morris (Brandie) Archer, Edna (Jose) Lemus, Melissa (Mario) Archer, Felicia (Dwayne) Archer, Ashley (Bernie) Archer, Troy Archer, Anna Wambutan-Tan, Carmen (David) Oakley – and celebrated the growth of his family as it expanded to include many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His spirit lives on in each of them.

Rosendo was preceded in death by his parents, Rosendo Wambu-Tan and Carmen Wambutan. His life and faith are best described by the Pentecostal verse, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). Rosendo was a testament to these words, living a life filled with love, faith, and purpose.
