Sara Ann Ramsey, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025.  Sara was born in Amarillo, Texas on July 15, 1940. A proud Sandie, she graduated from Amarillo High School and later earned a certificate in Bookkeeping from Amarillo College. She built a dedicated career as a bookkeeper with Glazer Wholesale, where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 2000.

Known for her enormous heart and open-door spirit, Sara welcomed everyone with warmth and love. She was a talented softball coach, proudly coaching her own children and instilling in them both skill and confidence. As a single mother, Sara’s devotion to her family was unwavering—she showed up, every day, with love, strength, and encouragement. That same devotion extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents; Jimmie and Dick Smotherman and Ray and Ethel Pace; her brother, Tom Pace; her sister, Linda Sanders; and her nephew, Jamie Sanders.

She is survived by her sister-in-law; Hazel Pace; her daughter, Melissa McQuatters, and husband Chuck; granddaughter Amanda Stumbo, and her daughters Rhiannyn Stumbo and Jordin Garcia; grandson Taylor Morrison and wife Ashley, and their children Freyja and Maddox. She is also survived by her son, George Ramsey, and wife Tracy; grandson George Lee Ramsey and his children Kaden and Aria Ramsey; granddaughters Abby Berget and Halei Ramsey; and two step-grandchildren, Chris and Joey Fisher.

Sara leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever remember the love, kindness, and light she brought into their lives
