Shane Garrett King

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Shane Garrett King, a beloved husband, father, son, and a beacon of faith to many. Born on October 21, 1991, in Amarillo, Texas, Shane was a cherished member of the community, touching countless lives with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. He passed away on November 11, 2023, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion.

Shane was a man of strong faith, an avid Christian who lived his life as a testament to his beliefs. He was a valued member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon, Texas. His love for Jesus was the cornerstone of his life, and he shared this passion with everyone he met. Shane’s infectious laughter and jovial spirit brightened every room he entered. He found his life’s greatest joy in his family, especially his children, whom he adored. His marriage to his wife, Kayla King, on December 31, 2013, was a beautiful testament to their shared love and devotion. The verse, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13), perfectly encapsulates Shane’s life.

Shane’s dedication was not only evident in his faith and family life, but also in his career. An integral part of Pantex, Shane worked diligently as a Product Analyst/Tester/Packager. His commitment to excellence in his work was admired by all who knew him. A proud graduate of Amarillo High School, Shane’s roots in Amarillo and Groom shaped the incredible man he became. His life was a testament to the power of faith, the strength of family, and the joy of laughter.

Shane is survived by his loving wife, Kayla King, his three children, Kohen, Razie, Swaizlee; his father, Brandon King, and his mother, Kathryn Koeing; twin sister, Lana, and his brother Chase. He is remembered as a man of unwavering faith, a devoted family man, and a cherished friend. His earthly journey may have ended, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched.

We invite all who knew and loved Shane to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page. In doing so, we continue to celebrate his life and the indelible mark he left on all our lives.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at First Baptist Church, 1717 4th Ave., Canyon, Texas.

I had only met Shane very briefly at work, after finding out about his disease. I made it a point to talk to him and tell him I’d be praying for him. In that small conversion, I could tell that he had a heart the size of Texas, and that he loved God and his family. I walked away pretty emotional that day but thankful that I met him. He seemed like a good man and great father and husband. I know he will be missed by many. But he added a huge bonus to heaven!

I only got to work with Shane for a short time, but he really touched my heart and soul. He had such a great love for Jesus and loved to share it. Shane was as tough and positive person that I have ever been around. He will be dearly missed by many. My prayers go out to Kayla and the kids and Rae. May
    God comfort each and everyone.

I met Shane in 2014. We both started work at the same time. We often visited at lunch and became good friends. We both had a passion for finding video games that his and my kids would enjoy. We texted often keeping up with the latest offerings at local restaurants. He was an amazing friend! Going to miss all of our conversations we had on a weekly basis. His faith was in the Lord was flawless and he was the true wholesome example of a Christian. Going to miss you brother.
