Shannon Jean Sharber

With a spirit as warm as a Texas sunset, Shannon Jean Sharber, born February 1, 1971, in Amarillo, Texas, was a beacon of compassion and love to everyone she met. Shannon devoted her life to the service of others, especially children, and found true joy in the laughter and growth of the youngest members of our community. She was the embodiment of the saying, “It’s not what we have in life, but who we have in our life that matters.” As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter, Shannon left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

Shannon’s loving nature found a perfect home in the childcare industry, where she worked for 22 years at her sister Tamme’s daycare, Tamme’s Tender Touch. Her dedication to the children she cared for was a testament to her supportive and thoughtful nature. To Shannon, every child was special, and she had the unique ability to make each one feel loved and valued. Her work was not just a job, but a calling, and she filled every day with affection, guidance, and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Sherron Shannon Mays.

Shannon is survived by her husband, Brad Sharber; her cherished daughters, Tiffany and Amber Tinajero; her treasured grandchildren, Jobe Billstrom, Rylee, and Paxtyn Tinajero-Imhoff; her father, Raymond Mays; her supportive siblings, Tamme Pinkert and husband Tommy, and Rita Burton and husband Harry; her mother-in-law, Patty Sharber, and Seth Billstrom, her grandson’s father and a longtime member of the family. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Shannon’s legacy of love, compassion, and support will live on in the hearts of all those she touched.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave, Amarillo, Texas. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery, 2900 South Hayes Street, Amarillo, Texas.
