Sharon Ann Prutzman, 75 of Possum Kingdom Lake passed peacefully, surrounded by family on October 17, 2025. 

Sharon was born to Frank and Dillie Garrett in Plainview, TX April 10, 1950. The youngest of 7 children afforded her the freedom to be a little mischievous as a child. Sharon met Tom Prutzman, the love of her life, on a blind date when they were teenagers. The two were married in 1968 and went on to raise three children, Tami, Traci and Wade. 

Sharon wore many hats in her life. She owned and operated family businesses such as Mr. T’s Cleaners and The Antique Mall Consignment Shop in Plainview, TX. She also worked for Plainview ISD for many years serving as Secretary at Hillcrest Elementary for a stretch and the ISS Attendant at the high school for another. Sharon was also known to bartend at the Elks Lodge before she and Tom retired to Possum Kingdom Lake for the remainder of their lives. 

Tom and Sharon were a part of a tight knit community at their PK Lake house in Phantom Hollow. Sharon had a gift for nurturing others. She was a very welcoming host and loved sharing her home with friends and family. Sharon was an amazing cook and could feed 20 people with one chicken. There was always room for more at her table. Sharon had a knack for entertaining and made visitors feel like they were the guest of honor. All who knew her will remember her warm demeanor and infectious laugh that could be heard throughout the camp. 

Sharon was lovingly known as Nana by her most honored houseguests, her grandchildren. She was most proud of her children and their families. The home she and Tom created served as a lake retreat for all of their family. In her free time she loved spending time with her friends and family on the porch, gardening and landscaping, and spoiling her dog, Bubba. She loved road trips to the Casino with Gina and the gang. But most of all she loved being a part of a community at the lake. 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Tom Prutzman. Brothers Calvin, Raby, and Joe Garrett; one sister Norma Phinny; and grandson Samuel Ayers. She is survived by children Tami (Walter) Ayers of Mansfield, Traci (Cody) Bigham of Amarillo, and Wade (Rachel) Prutzman of Hale Center. Grandchildren include Taylor (Bradly) Evans, Beau and Rhett Bigham, Austin (Abbie) and Cooper Ayers, Kathren (Kristian), Mylee, Kylee and Christopher Prutzman; Great Grandchildren Carson and Kyler Evans; Sisters Shirley (Willis) Dean and Dora (Larry) McBee and countless nieces and nephews. In addition to family, Sharon is survived by her closest friends Jamie Strickland and Marilyn Knox as well as many others at Phantom and Fox Hollow. 

Memorial will be held on November 1, 2025, at 3pm at Fox Hollow Resort at Possum Kingdom.
