Shawn Nicole Smith

Shawn Nicole Smith, 48, of Amarillo, passed away on March 5, 2021. She was born on July 23, 1972, in Amarillo, to Sherman and Betty Joyce (Westmoreland) Anderson.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, at MORE Church, located at 5511 W. Amarillo Blvd. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services.

Shawn was unique, and extremely humble. She loved her family and always ensured that everyone felt her love. To know her is to love her. She was the prime example of unconditional love. She eluded strength and the ability to thrive when facing adversity. She was one of the back bones of the family (because there was plenty.) Shawn loved music, dancing, and makeup. Shawn always dressed to impress without even trying. She loved fashion, and had a creative eye for decor. She loved to decorate and could cook a mean meal for any type of occasion. She loved her family dearly and loved to be surrounded by the ones who loved her and supported the family.

Shawn was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Betty Anderson, and her older sister Yvonne Ford.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kaylee Smith; sons, Colton Smith (and his children, Cameron, Amilah, and Ardus,) Kegan Smith  (and his son, Ezra,) and Addison Smith; her brothers, Kelvin Anderson of Dallas and Meron Anderson of Amarillo; her nieces, Rainey Anderson and children of Dallas, Sheldon Ford of Florida, Kenyia Williams-Aniefiok of Dallas; a nephew Keith Williams of Dallas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Having spent my entire career as a teacher at San Jacinto Elementary School, I was blessed to have taught all four of Shawn’s children.

They were great kids!….personable, hard working and mannerly……just like their mother.

Shawn was a parent who cared deeply for her kids and supported them in every way possible. She was always a joy to visit with.

Kaylee, Colton, Kegan and Addison….my prayers are with you.

I will be out of town on Saturday, so unfortunately I will miss the service.

    Love you all!
