Shelly Irene Thompson, 57, of Amarillo, passed away August 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Amarillo on February 16, 1967, to Grover Lee and Linda (Hart) Harris.
Shelly loved riding, whether it was her Harley or horses, she always had a great time. She enjoyed family vacations with all her kids. Shelly loved dancing with her husband, Rick. She always had fun listening to country music, attending live concerts and drinking beer! Shelly treasured family game nights and hanging out with her girlfriends.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Grover Harris, and her grandparents, B.T. and Louis Harris, and Preston and Essie Hart.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Rick Thompson; her mom, Linda Harris; a sister, Shannon Goodin; a brother, Poncho Harris; her beloved daughters, Shelby Dewbre and husband Tyson Dewbre, and Laci Thompson and boyfriend, Jarrett Sullins. She is also survived by her precious granddaughters, Berkley and Lila Dewbre.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Boy’s Ranch Chapel, Boy’s Ranch, Texas.
Thank you, Rick, Shelby, Laci and Shannon especially for sharing Shelly with all of us. I met Berkley one of the last times I was in the store. Shannon brought Shelly to our May Welcome Pardner Client Networking Breakfast as Santa Fe Credit Union honored Shelly as the Random Acts of Kindness honoree of the month. We did these together for about 8 years, as she continued the heart-felt promotion from the Metcalfs. I’m so thankful she was a recipient. I’ve never met such a determined-to-fight-cancer person as Shelly. How she continued to work faithfully for her customers and community while taking chemo.
