Tamara “Tammy” Kay Gill, 74, passed away on August 18, 2026. She was born on July 28, 1952, in Guymon, Oklahoma, to Virgil and Opal Miller.
Tammy grew up in the nearby town of Keyes, Oklahoma, where she graduated from high school. She then attended cosmetology school and later worked at a hair salon in Fort Worth, Texas. Tammy then relocated to Amarillo in 1991. There, she dedicated many years to a career at Dillard’s until her retirement. Tammy loved staying active, spending many years in a pool league and enjoying country-western dancing. Most of all, she loved and cherished her family and friends. Tammy was the absolute best mom and an even better Mimi. She loved taking Raelyn and Zoey out to eat at their favorite places. Tammy loved fiercely and would do anything for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Opal Miller.
She is survived by her spouse, John Gill; daughter, Danaka Massey Crosley and husband Curtis Crosley; granddaughters, Raelyn Crosley and Zoey Crosley; sister, Dawn Williams and husband Steve Williams; brother, Troy Miller and wife Nancigail Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Lighthouse Funeral Home Chapel, 3707 Wolflin Avenue, Amarillo, Texas, 79102.
Tammy was such a hard working woman, a great role model and single mom that made a difference in people’s lives. Rest in peace now, you have earned it.
