Tara Carter was a hardcore lover and a hardcore life-live-er. She knew how to get the tears flowing, how to get a party started, and how to show the people she loved that she cared. Tara valued the little things in life—handmade gifts, homemade suppers, moments shared—and she carried those values into everything she did.

A true jack-of-all-trades, Tara was known around town for both her relentless work ethic and her goofy, unforgettable personality. She would do anything—anything to take care of her family. She worked with horses, did landscaping, fixed cars, held retail jobs, and sold her own handmade crafts. Tara loved to work, but more than that, she loved the people she worked for: her family.

Above all else, Tara adored her children. Being “Mom,” no matter her circumstances or the obstacles in her path, was her proudest accomplishment. She cherished each of her children for who they were, and she was overjoyed to welcome her first grandson, Richard Teague Landin, into the world before her passing.

Her soulmate was her dog, Breeze. Tara could often be found in a tent or a lawn chair beside any West Texas lake, Breeze by her side, fishing pole in hand, classic rock drifting through the air—completely at peace.

Tara was loved and respected by many, many people. And now, she is dancing on the shoreline of a lake in heaven with her Daddy. Always loved and never forgotten.
