A Tribute to a Master of Life and Craft

​”Build a reputation and then you can go to sleep,” he used to say, with the wisdom that only comes from years of honest labor. Today, that reputation as a man of integrity and hard work is his greatest legacy.

​Teodoro Garcia Herrera, originally from Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, he brought not just his roots but also a talent that required no fancy tools or modern shortcuts. For him, everything was in his hands; his skill at RR Stucco & Plaster Construction was truly one of a kind. In the trade, no one was as “chingón” (formidable) as he was. He worked with a mastery that inspired everyone around him, proving that true art is born from effort and dedication.

​More than a coworker, he was a father figure and the pillar of our work family. He possessed an incomparable patience; where others would lose their temper, he would respond with a smile or a laugh that disarmed any frustration. He found joy in the simplest things—a tortilla with salt or a fresh seafood feast—because for him, happiness was found in the present moment and in good company.

​He was the protector and the most loyal friend to my husband, standing firm by his side through the good times and the bad, whether there was money or not. His loyalty knew no conditions.

​His great lesson for us all:  “Always give something to others, even when you feel you have nothing to give. Because tomorrow, the person you least expect will be the one to help you out of your situation.”

​Today, we say goodbye to a man who built much more than walls; he built lives, friendships, and a family that will never forget him. From Matehuala to the world, his example of loyalty and hard work will live on forever at RR Stucco & Plaster.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 31, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited beginning at 3:00 p.m. Services will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo.

Homenaje a un Maestro de Vida y de Oficio

​”Crea fama y échate a dormir”, solía decir con esa sabiduría que solo dan los años y el trabajo honesto. Hoy, esa fama de hombre íntegro y trabajador es lo que nos queda como el más grande de los legados.

​​Teodoro Garcia Herrera, originario de Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, México, trajo consigo no solo sus raíces, sino un talento que no necesitaba de herramientas modernas ni de “hermanitas nuevas”. Para él, todo estaba en sus manos; su destreza en RR Stucco & Plaster Construction era simplemente única. En el gremio, nadie era tan “chingón” como él. Trabajaba con una maestría que inspiraba a todos a su alrededor, demostrando que el verdadero arte nace del esfuerzo y la dedicación.

​Más que un compañero de trabajo, fue una figura paterna y el pilar de nuestra familia laboral. Poseía una paciencia incomparable; donde otros perdían los estribos, él respondía con una sonrisa o una carcajada que desarmaba cualquier enojo. Disfrutaba de las cosas sencillas—una tortilla con sal o un buen manjar de mariscos—porque para él, la felicidad estaba en el presente y en la buena compañía.

​Fue el protector y el amigo más fiel de mi esposo, manteniéndose firme a su lado en las buenas y en las malas, con dinero o sin él. Su lealtad no conocía condiciones.

​Su gran enseñanza para todos nosotros:
​”Siempre da algo a los demás, incluso cuando sientas que no tienes para dar. Porque el día de mañana, la persona que menos esperas será quien te ayude a salir de tu situación.”

​Hoy despedimos a un hombre que construyó mucho más que muros; construyó vidas, amistades y una familia que jamás lo olvidará. De Matehuala para el mundo, su ejemplo de lealtad y trabajo vivirá siempre en RR Stucco & Plaster.

La visita será el martes 31 de marzo de 11:00 a.m. a 5:00 p.m. Se rezará un Rosario a partir de las 3:00 p.m. Los servicios comenzarán a las 4:00 p.m. en Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo.
