Tom Washer was born on July 5th, 1953, to T.J. and Carole Washer in Borger, Texas and passed away on April 11th, 2023, at his home in Amarillo. He graduated from Bartlesville High School in 1971 and joined the United States Army. Upon completion of his military service, he attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He spent the majority of his 25-year professional career employed by Phillips 66.
In 1974, Tom married the love of his life, Jean Ann. Together they have four children, six grandchildren (soon to be seven), and a love story lasting 49 years. Tom, a devoted husband, loved his family fiercely, enjoyed music, and spent time in the great outdoors camping, hiking, and hunting. Kindhearted, he connected with family and friends by sharing his excitement for his pastimes or by simply singing a song. His Christian faith grounded his life and was the foundation upon which he built his family alongside Jeanie.
Tom is survived by his wife, Jeanie, his four children Laura Agüero (Héctor), Rachel Isley (Jeremy), Jeremy Washer (Nans), David B. Washer (Sophie), and six grandchildren, Eva, Thomas, Jackson, Noah, Elijah, and Théo.
His memorial service will be held on Monday, April 17th, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Covenant Church 1501 S. Florida Street, Borger, Texas. Flowers may be sent to Faith Covenant Church.
