Travis L. Reger, age 89 Amarillo, Texas, and formerly of the Holt community in Hutchinson County, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025. Born on September 11, 1935, Travis dedicated his life to farming and stockmanship, embodying the hardworking spirit of his rural roots.
A proud graduate of Stinnett High School, Travis’s life was marked by a deep passion for agriculture and a love of all sports, especially rodeo. His enthusiasm and zest for life touched everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Jonnie Williams and Frankie Winkler.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Janet G. Reger; his children, Debra Schwarz (Bob) of Silver Lake, Kansas, and Dale Reger (Kimberly) of Edmond, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, David Reger, Morgan Abbey, and Cole Schwarz; three great-grandchildren, his brother Roy Reger and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Travis’s life will be held on Thursday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Stinnett United Methodist Church where he was a member for over 60 years. There will be a light lunch following the service.
The family kindly requests that donations be made to the Stinett United Methodist Church or Gracie’s Project, an organization dedicated to providing help to animals in need.
Rest in peace, Travis. Your legacy of hard work, passion, and love will forever be remembered.
I have known the Reger name all my life, living in Stinnett , that whole family was part of the very foundation of who we are, how we were raised, my parents Erven and Reba(Keadle)Tooley knew you all, I am sorry for this loss to his family, prayers for comfort and remembering all the good .
