Victoria B. Garcia

Victoria B. Garcia, 46, of Amarillo, passed away on December 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Service celebrating Victoria’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo, Texas. A Rosary will be recited after the service.

The world has lost one of its brightest lights. Our family’s Angel on Earth, our inspiration, our motivation, our hero has gone home after a brief, tough battle with stomach cancer. It was a shock and a tragedy, and the world will never be the same.

Victoria worked in the medical field as a phlebotomist & nurse tech. She threw herself into her work and there was no other work best set for her kindness and compassion. She loved her patients and coworkers and was loved by them in return. There was no place she’d rather be.

She never met a stranger and was always first to offer a hand whether helping decorate or make desserts for a party or donating her kidney. Her generosity had no bounds. Ever the joker, she loved to laugh, and she was always quick with a joke or prank which triggered her infectious laughter. And through this she gained countless friends and admirers forever.

A dedicated wife and mother, she always put the needs of others above her own. As a sister and daughter there was no one better equipped for the task. Infinitely generous and helpful she was always willing to pitch in for all friends and family functions. There were no lengths she wouldn’t go for family.

Our hearts are broken, our spirits are shattered, but we will carry on as we know she expects us to. All our love and prayers and hugs and kisses until we meet again sweet Angel Victoria.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Felix and Consuelo DeLeon, and Esteban and Gregoria Bustos, and two nieces, Alyssa and Anyssa Cavazos.

Victoria will forever be remembered by her husband Mario Garcia; her children Zerron and Zarianna; her parents, Richard Sr. and Magdelena DeLeon; her sisters, Carolyn DeLeon, Cecilia Lucero and husband Robert Sr., and Jessica Cavazos; one brother, Richard DeLeon Jr. and wife Elizabeth; nephews and nieces Juan DeLeon and wife Lyanna, Brianna Fabela and husband David Sr., Robert Lucero Jr. and wife Marissa, DiAngelo Lucero and wife Erika, Breah Lucero, Analyssa Quiroz and husband Julio, Damien Cavazos, Richard III, and Elayna and Estella DeLeon; great nephews and nieces Ezra DeLeon, David Jr., Everly and Maggie Fabela, Bella Lucero, Adeline, DiAngelo Jr. and Jon Lucero.  Victoria was Godmother to Anyssa and Alyssa Cavazos, Analyssa Cavazos, Bella Lucero, Adeline Lucero, Maggie Fabela and Ezra DeLeon.

Immediately following the service, there will be a gathering for a meal at the Four Points by Sheraton @ 1911 E. Interstate 40, in the West Texas Ballroom.

The hotel is offering group rates for out-of-town travelers under the name “Garcia.”

So many words can describe who my sister was. It’s hard to believe she is no longer with us and I break every-time I think about it. Although I still see her smile hear her voice the pain of not visiting her will never go away. When I get to my final resting place I will be so happy my big sister is there to take care of me once again.

As a big sister, my little sister was always there to keep our siblings together. Words can’t express how deeply she will be missed. We have so many memories, every time I think about one she’s always there listening and watching over me. Little sister Victoria, you’ll never be forgotten. You’re my true hero, always. Since I met Victoria when her and Mario got together, I have always admired her caring, loving ways. Always smiling and trying to help. She was one of a kind with her beautiful smile, she was a shining star in this world. My heart is broken that she left us so early. My nephew Mario , the kids Zerron, and Zarriana are in my prayers. They were blessed with her presence in their lives.
    A poem for Victoria;
    FIERCE,COURAGEOUS,and STRONG
    You always gave your all,
    Taking on life challenges,
    And forever standing tall,
    You took every MOMENT,
    With each passing day,
A chance to CHANGE the world,
And CONQUER all that came your way.

Our sweet daughter in law, was so special to us. If ever we needed anything such as checking in on a family member or help with planning any type of activity, she was always there & willing to help with her beautiful smile & talent. We were blessed to have her so close for the brief time she & Mario lived in Albuquerque. The other side of Vikki was the funny side. We never knew what to expect with each prank or funny past memory she would bring up; she made sure we’d never forget it. No doubt she’ll keep them all laughing up there. Thank you for blessing us with our two beautiful grandkids. Gone, but never to be forgotten. We will always feel your presence. We love and miss you. Never goodbye; just, “we’ll see you when we see you again”.

My little sis! I am so heart broken sis, I never thought my heart would hurt like this. We had so many things to still do in life. I will forever cherish every memory we have together and will watch over your children here! All the times we would just sit together and laugh or even cry together! At one of my most challenging times in life when I thought I was losing my spouse you donated a kidney to help him out. You will forever sis be remembered! I love you so much sis!! I am not gonna say good bye because we will be together again someday!

I don’t know how one person could do it all but that was you tia! The most selfless woman. Every memory I look back on you did everything with so much joy and had the biggest smile! You were love. Your warm presence is deeply missed. I will think of you always! Watch over the family, my beautiful angel tia!🩷

Dear Vikki, everyday I am shocked and saddened that you are gone. But I am thankful for all the memories that I will forever cherish. You’re laugh weather loud and joyful or quiet and “sneaky” was the best!! You were a great sister in law and an awesome friend. I will always remember so many good times working and living together over the years. All the talks, kids parties and adult celebrations you were always there to help in any way big or small. I remember one of the best times was planning my baby shower. You had such a special way of making things so much fun! I will be there for your kids in anyway I can the way you were for mine. I love you and I hope you are at peace and your spirit watch over us all (and still share laughs with us).

Victoria aka “Righty” , I’ve realized in all this turmoil we have descended into in the last 2 months is that I don’t think you were really a regular human , you literally were an Angel given to Rich and Maggie and your siblings and Mario and kids, Your 46 year mission on this earth is done. I’m sure Jesus has you on another mission and I will always be in your debt for the gift of life you gave me . Love you and I’ll bring your kidney home with me when it’s my turn .

Vikki I remember you always being there for us as kids as well as always willing to help out and share a memory as adults. I still remember how bad I wanted that one particular Burger King toy as a child and you took it upon yourself to drive all across Amarillo and surprise me with that toy. You were and will always be a joy in our lives. There was nothing but smiles when you were around. I am so shocked at this revelation but know you are in a special place. I really wanted to attend your service however am unable to make it due to an injury at work. Just know that you will forever remain in our hearts and may our prayers be with you!

Vikki, I remember seeing you everytime I went to a Lucero gathering. You always made me feel so welcome, and you were always the light of the party. I remember that you always made the best desserts too, and you always were more than happy to share with everyone. You have such a beautiful soul, and we love you and miss you so so much. 🤍

I met Victoria as a young girl she used to spend the night at my house, her and her siblings. She was always the joy of the crowd always cracking up, laughing giggling, could never get her to go to bed because she kept giggling as the years went by she kept in touch we text often. She was a wonderful little girl. I had no children so her and her siblings were like my children. Their parents are wonderful people and I was blessed to be able to keep them as young girls. Thanks for always keeping in touch with me and loving me. I loved you as well. You are now in a better place. It was shocking news to me. You were always a happy soul even as a young girl. Love you forever and this is not goodbye. I will see you someday. Rest in peace Vicky.
