Victoria Fuentes Haltom, 72, was born in Dalhart, Texas on May 28,1952, to Joe and Becky Fuentes and passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2025, with one of her cats on her lap, after a brief battle with lung cancer.

A Memorial Service will be held in Amarillo on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave.

Vickie worked as an Executive Assistant at Durbin Bennett Tax Advisors in Austin since 2004. She was proud to be part of their team. Thank you to Melissa and Molly her co-workers who stepped in to help, since we were so far away. She was blessed to have you in her life. She loved to cook, bake and try new recipes. She had about 1000+ recipes printout all through her apartment.

She loved music, reading, going to thrift stores, garage sales and shopping in general. She always had the newest gadgets for the kitchen. She loved to spend time with her friends and family, and talking about the good old days with her sisters. She was quick-witted, loved to laugh and always up for a challenge. Vickie was always there to help her friends and family when in need.

She fought hard, and worked up until the day her body would not let her continue. Her faith was unwavering. She was exactly where she wanted to be, at home with her kitties.

Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Joe Frank Fuentes Sr., her mother, Rebecca Lovato Fuentes, and her sister, Theresa Helen Fuentes.

She is survived by her sisters Katherine Fuentes of Amarillo, and Alice (Johnny) Samaniego of Dalhart; a brother Joe (Georgia) Fuentes, Jr. of Amarillo; her nieces Demetria (Shane) Carver of Amarillo, Tammy (Bobby) Lenear of Atlanta, GA, Rachel (DJ) Fuentes-Quillin of Dalhart, Danette (Anthony)Encinias of Dalhart, and Leticia (Steven) Bryant of Joliet, IL; nephew James Fuentes of Amarillo, and many great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved cats Noah, Baby, Chubby and Yellow.
