Allen Theodore Haynes, known affectionately to his loved ones as Allen, passed away on September 13, 2024. Born on March 24, 1949, in Santa Fe, NM, Allen lived a life that was as robust and intricate as the engines he loved to work on. A master mechanic by trade, he spent his life immersed in the world of automotive mechanics, a place where he found great joy and fulfillment.

Despite the oil-stained hands and the greasy overalls, Allen was a gentle soul with a heart as vast as the New Mexico sky. His life echoed the words of Helen Keller, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.” His love for his children was a testament to this belief. He was a devoted father who found his greatest triumphs not in the engines he repaired but in the lives of his children.

Allen is survived by his wife, Sharon Haynes, with whom he shared a bond that transcended the trials of their separation. He leaves behind his loving children; Wendy Haynes, Carrie Coslin, Christopher Haynes, Brandy Ridenhour, Robert Haynes, and Raymond Haynes, who will carry forward their father’s legacy of love and dedication. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Tollian Haynes, and his beloved daughter, Alisha Haynes.

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “It is not length of life, but depth of life.” Allen’s life was not defined by the years he lived, but by the depth of his love, his dedication to his craft, and the cherished memories he created with his family. Please feel encouraged to share your memories of Allen and upload any photos you may have to his memorial page. These shared experiences will serve as a comforting reminder of the remarkable life Allen led and the profound impact he had on those fortunate enough to have known him.
